Equipped with the right applications, a computer can be of great help in virtually any domain of activity. When it comes to designing and precision, no other tool is as accurate as a computer. Moreover, specialized applications such as AutoCAD give you the possibility to design nearly anything ranging from art, to complex mechanical parts or even buildings.
Suitable for business environments and experienced users
After a decent amount of time spent installing the application on your system, you are ready to fire it up. Thanks to the office suite like interface, all of its features are cleverly organized in categories. At a first look, it looks easy enough to use, but the abundance of features it comes equipped with leaves room for second thoughts.
Create 2D and 3D objects
You can make use of basic geometrical shapes to define your objects, as well as draw custom ones. Needless to say that you can take advantage of a multitude of tools that aim to enhance precision. A grid can be enabled so that you can easily snap elements, as well as adding anchor points to fully customize shapes.
With a little imagination and patience on your behalf, nearly anything can be achieved. Available tools allow you to create 3D objects from scratch and have them fully enhanced with high-quality textures. A powerful navigation pane is put at your disposal so that you can carefully position the camera to get a clearer view of the area of interest.
Various export possibilities
Similar to a modern web browser, each project is displayed in its own tab. This comes in handy, especially for comparison views. Moreover, layouts and layers also play important roles, as it makes objects handling a little easier.
Sine the application is not the easiest to carry around, requiring a slightly sophisticated machine to properly run, there are several export options put at your disposal so that the projects itself can be moved around.
Aside from the application specific format, you can save as an image file of multiple types, PDF, FBX and a few more. Additionally, it can be sent via email, directly printed out on a sheet of paper, or even sent to a 3D printing service, if available.
To end with
All in all, AutoCAD remains one of the top applications used by professionals to achieve great precision with projects of nearly any type. It encourages usage with incredible offers for student licenses so you get acquainted with its abundance of features early on. A lot can be said about what it can and can't do, but the true surprise lies in discovering it step-by-step.

Commercial use of AutoCAD is licensed. The price of a license depends on the number of people who use AutoCAD, the number of computers used, and the version of AutoCAD used.
If you are an individual who uses AutoCAD for commercial purposes, the license is called Single User License.
If you are an organization that licenses AutoCAD for your commercial use, the license is called Site License.
Use of AutoCAD for commercial purposes, at any time, is subject to the AutoCAD Site License Agreement and End User License Agreement (EULA). All users of AutoCAD must agree to the EULA before they can use AutoCAD. You can view the EULA from the AutoCAD Site License Application Form.
Many users of AutoCAD are freelancers, independent contractors, and small businesses. Such users may not have the time or technical knowledge to be experts with AutoCAD.
It is possible that you will get a copy of AutoCAD with a trial version from your CAD supplier or from a commercial vendor. Try out a version of AutoCAD on your computer and see if it suits your needs. If you decide to use AutoCAD, you will have to purchase a license from an Autodesk distributor.
Note: Technical support for AutoCAD is available from an Autodesk technical support representative.
The Autodesk AutoCAD technical support representative will be your contact for technical support. You must contact the Autodesk technical support representative prior to using AutoCAD, for support and troubleshooting.
You can submit service requests directly to Autodesk, but there are better ways to get your requests solved by Autodesk.
Use of AutoCAD is subject to the terms and conditions of the AutoCAD Site License Agreement and the End User License Agreement. You may view the AutoCAD Site License Agreement from the Autodesk Site License Application Form. You can view the End User License Agreement from the Autodesk AutoCAD Installation Instructions.

X, Y, Z. A 3D reference plane that determines the axis along which offsetting happens in two dimensions. When using the lnus X,Y, or Z planes for offsets, the Z axis is along the axis of the path (typically the X-axis when you are offsetting along a path).
Front-facing/back-facing. A front-facing face is one that is bound to the model. It faces the viewer of the model. A back-facing face is a face of a face that is bound to a face. It faces away from the viewer of the model.
The dimensional feature allows the authoring of the dimension styles by using attributes. This feature allows creating dimension styles using attributes rather than in the dimensions themselves. Attributes can be added to a dimension to change the appearance of the dimension and the method of viewing the dimension. For example, attributes can add colour, thickness and show/hide the dimension. Attributes can be used in any dimension style, but only in Dimensional Draw. Dimensional Draw is an option within Dimensional Style.
When in Dimensional Draw, the authoring interface shows a grid of symbols, similar to that of a traditional drafting table. Dimensions are displayed as editable icons. Attributes can be added to any dimension icon. Dimensions that are made from non-dimension objects such as blocks are made available in the same way as dimensions made from other objects.
Dimensions can be hidden or shown using an authoring tools. When hidden, the dimension shows as a line with the dimensions’ endpoints. The dimension’s line is thicker than other lines. When shown, the dimension shows as a dimension icon. The dimension’s line is thinner than other lines. When the dimension icon is clicked, the dimension is shown. When the dimension icon is clicked again, the dimension is hidden. This enables the view of the dimension to change when the view is changed.
Basic dimension styles
Basic dimension styles contain the basic attributes for creating a style, but they can be extended to contain additional attributes. Once the basic dimension style is defined, it can be used to create an alternative style.
Dynamic style. The Dynamic Dimension Style is the default style. It does not contain any attributes. It is used to display dimensions, draw, snap, and alignment tools.
Abstraction. An Abstraction Dimension Style is a dimension style that is created by clicking the Abstraction icon on the toolbar. Abstraction Dimension Styles
Start the application.
Select “Load File” or “New”.
In the File type, select.cdr.
In the location, navigate to your Install CD or Game folder and select the folder with the.pk3 file you got.
You should now be in your Autocad installation. Open up the Install CD or Games folder. Look for the c:\cad\win32 folder and open the c:\cad\win32\autocad folder. This is the folder with the CAD files. Find the file that is called cad.pak. Copy that file to your Windows Documents folder.
In Autocad, go to the Help and Support menu and select Send Feedback. Click on the feedback button and select Autocad and enter a ticket number. Click Send.
In your email, you should get an email from Autocad with the ticket number and the details of what you need to do to send a feedback. Click on the link and go to the URL in the email, this will take you to the Feedback Page. Go to the Feedback History tab and you will see the conversation. Click on the “Show more” link next to the version number. This will take you to the Autocad Feedback Form. Select “I don’t have Autocad” in the list and click the box next to “Send Email to Autocad”
In the message box that appears, you will have to click “Continue” to use the default email client. This will take you to your email program, usually “Outlook” and you can send your message and hopefully it will be forwarded to Autocad.
