Morton Hunsley (October 19, 1915 – May 16, 2001) was an American composer and music theorist. He was known for his studies of Stravinsky and his own musical compositions and for his books on musical theory, notably his book On the General Characteristics of Music (1956).

He was born to former president and Tennessee senator Lamar Hunsley and Minnie Louise Hunsley in Chicago, Illinois. He received a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Illinois in 1937.
